近年来，电影《路边野餐》的成功，让凯里成为了众人瞩目的焦点。凯里既是电影的拍摄地，也是导演毕赣的家乡。

凯里一词源于苗语，意为充满希望的新开垦土地。是黔东南苗族侗族自治州首府，素有“百节之城”和“芦笙之乡”的美誉，联合国教科文组织将其列入名录世界十大“回归自然”风景区之一，被世界本土文化保护基金会列为生态文化保护圈。

Kaili is a word originating from the Miao dialect, which means a newly reclaimed land full of hope. It is the capital city of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture,and has long been honored as“the city of a hundred festivals”and "home of the lusheng"(a reed-pipe wind musical instrument).The place is listed by UNESCO,as one of ten "back-to-nature"scenic areas in the world, and as an ecological and cultural protection circle by the World Foundation for the Protection of the Native Culture.
